David was raised in Far North Queensland and lived in Japan for just under a decade. David joined QPS in 2010 with a career spent entirely in Far North Queensland conducting General duties and remote postings – Kowanyama, Yarrabah; 5 years and 8 months in total. David further spent 6 years in a Detective role with the Cairns Child Protection Investigation Unit (CPIU).
In 2019, David commenced the build up of technical capabilities inside of FNR Crime Group in support of CIB, CPIU and MOCS including the Investigations team with AFP JACET from 2020 until 2023.
David’s main focus is on developing investigator capabilities around detection and prosecution of technology enabled crime – child sex abuse and trafficking, drugs and organised crime, counter-terrorism, domestic violence etc. David joined Cellebrite in December 2023 with remit to encourage investigator adoption of digital tools and assist in the use of same.
