Senior Federal Prosecutors - CDPP

Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions

Zoe Hough, Amos Washington and Miette Xamon are federal prosecutors with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (Commonwealth) (CDPP).

The CDPP is an independent prosecution service established by Parliament to prosecute alleged offences against Commonwealth law across all Australian States and Territories.

Zoe, Amos and Miette work in the Human Exploitation and Border Protection Practice Group, which is responsible for prosecuting a wide variety of Commonwealth offences relating to the integrity of Australia’s borders and the exploitation of persons within and outside of Australia.

The CDPP receives a significant volume of referrals relating to Commonwealth child sex offences both within Australia and overseas. Most of these referrals relate to offending committed online through the use of a carriage service. The CDPP receives many other referrals with a technological focus, including cybercrime, computer and telecommunications offences.

Between them, Zoe, Amos and Miette have experience prosecuting these crime types in Victoria, New South Wales, Western Australia, and the Australian Capital Territory.
